A fine chandelier signed "Freres Muller Luneville" with winged bronze structure and notorious glass engravings. This creation is an example of their later Art Deco styled lighting fixtures in the 1930's.

About les Freres Muller
(Muller Brothers) in Luneville, France, was one of the premier glassmakers of the period. The Mullers produced art glass competing with Daum and Galle from 1895 till the war intervened in 1914. Resuming production in 1919, the company concentrated on ceiling fixtures, wall sconces and table lamps. The Depression caused Muller Freres to cease production in 1933 and finally close down in 1936.

About Jean Royere (1902-1981)
A prominent figure of the french 1950's avant garde movement, Jean Royere started as an interior designer where he acquired his many skills in the famous cabinet making workshops of the Faubourg Saint-Antoine street in Paris. Organic forms, vibrant colours and a modern approach to ornamental art. His talent got him to oversee the design of King Farouk's, King Hussein of Jordan and the Shah or Iran's royal palaces.
This curious folding chair from the 19th century Napoleon III era is made out of wood sculpted in bamboo like shape and covered in delicate sheets of gold. It is adorned with bells on the sides of the backrest. The seat is its original upholstery with nailhead trims and in very good condition considering its age.
